L'organisation contre le capitalisme. Le déclin de l'entreprise chez Schumpeter

Abstract: Like many other economists Schumpeter notes the advent of ?big business? by the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. This transformation threatens both the existing institutions and the main source of evolution: the couple innovation ? entrepreneur. Since it favours the decline of what we would call ?entrepreneurship? today, the corporation is a fertile ground for the advent of socialism. After reorganizing Schumpeter?s firm theory and clarifying his vocabulary, the article analyses the above-mentioned evolution. Thus in the Austrian?s work, the notion of ?enterprise? does not refer to the production place but to innovation, and the entrepreneur is not a manager but an economic actor, the one who undertakes.
