Abstract:
This paper aims to show that the organizations of standardization participate to an institutional dynamics which contributes to sustainable development. It is based on economic approaches and on an analysis of the project of ISO 26000 ? guidance standard for social responsibility. Standards and labels appear as institutional innovations which enhance the performance of companies in the context of sustainable development. Codes JEL: L15, L23, O19, O56
