Abstract:
This introduction article of the Special Issue Innovation and Temporality aims to provide definition elements and highlight the importance of temporal questions in innovation, although these questions are hitherto scarcely addressed in a straightforward way. The topics that intend to tackle temporalities in innovation research could be apprehended at the individual, organizational, interorganizational and societal levels. A taxonomy has thus been proposed and is followed by the identification of three questioning axis distinctively related to the innovation rhythm, temporal dialectics and temporal values, which are associated with the contributions published in this Special Issue. The main methodologies adopted to apprehend temporalities in innovation are next discussed by considering their potential limits. Code JEL: M1
