Activités et accumulation dans la petite entreprise Le cas des cabines publiques de téléphone à Nouakchott

Mondes en développement, 2002, vol. 120, issue 4, 89-103

Abstract: After a long period of state control of the telecommunication market, one has seen its opening, which has led to a multiplication of phone houses in Nouakchott. The management of these companies associates, with important elements of rationality, other more problematic behavior. Two sample surveys, in a span of six years show that the quantitative accumulation of capital in this domain is both real and modest ; the same can be said of the qualitative accumulation in the form of qualification level of the manager and the employees of the phone houses. This weak dynamics of the accumulation results at the same moment from a very lively competition and the development of a new and particularly competitive form of telecomunication
