Abstract:
Without denying the existence of common characteristics between lands protected areas and marine protected areas (MPA), we address the question of MPA, as a peculiar category of territories to protect. This article shows how Law and economic sciences are increasingly involved in the study of insufficiently known MPA?s particularisms, which often determine the success or failure of MPA?s governance schemes and environmental and economic impacts.
