Abstract:
This paper tackles some major ethical issues in microfinance. It first studies the favorable ethical a-priori of microfinance and then the emergence of ethical debates in this sector. It then analyses two specific ethical frameworks, the virtues and managerial approaches. Finally, we apply three principles of responsibility, related to capacity, knowledge and freedom of action, to microfinance.
