Abstract:
This paper presents the main contradictions the WTO is facing today. It attempts to analyse the articulation between the inherent issues of the WTO regime and the new power equilibrium resulting from emerging countries becoming these contradictions? main catalysers. This articulation reopens the North-South divide within the multilateral trading system and raises the issue of the WTO regime?s social and environmental sustainability.
