Mondes en développement, 2018, vol. n° 181, issue 1, 101-114
Abstract:
First, this contribution explains how the conceptualization of the so-called informal or popular economic realities have transformed debates in development studies; then, it demonstrates how these transformations may have changed ?popular realities? and discusses whether the violence inherent in our contemporary evolution has eroded or even dissolved the specificities and the originalities of such popular sectors. Towards the end, it questions how resilient such popular agents may be in the face of these rapid changes.
