Fragilisation des revenus maraîchers par la progression des zones urbaines en périphérie de Kinshasa (R.D. Congo)

Mabu Masiala Bode, Charles Kinkela Savy and Philippe Lebailly

Mondes en développement, 2018, vol. n° 181, issue 1, 115-130

Abstract: The article shows that, in terms of the conditions of market gardening production in Kinshasa, the decrease of farmland has exploited lower market income, thereby reducing the ability of these incomes to meet the survival requirements of farmers. There is therefore a need to think about the sustainability of market gardening in order to satisfy the demand for fresh vegetables from local populations and the well-being of farm households.
