La politique européenne de l’emploi au service de la compétitivité

Abstract:
The European Employment Strategy was developed against a backdrop of fierce criticism of European integration. It sought to rebalance European integration by providing it with a new social side. The European employment discourse was established within the context of the open method of coordination and was gradually unified around a liberal framework of competition. The 2008 crisis led to this policy being subordinated to the imperatives of competitiveness and budgetary austerity.
