Abstract:
Africa's infrastructure needs and financing are immeasurable. Among the main funders, China and its actors have the particularity of being able to build the infrastructure they finance. In order to assess the contribution of Chinese actors to the financing and realization of African infrastructure, this article explores several national, regional, and international statistical sources. Our study shows that they intervene mainly through service delivery, that their interventions are not different from others, and that they are predominantly oriented towards transport in West Africa. In this context, are Chinese actors reproducing an uneven development model?
