Mondes en développement, 2022, vol. n° 198, issue 2, 163-184
Abstract:
In the face of a significant ecological crisis, Algeria introduced, at the beginning of this millennium, a development model that would be better able to combine simultaneously economic, social, and environmental imperatives. At the same time, this crisis has been perceived as an opportunity to renew environmental public action via the National Environment Strategy (NES). Drawing on an evaluative approach, the objective of this article will be an analysis essay on the NES as an institutional response to this crisis and a catalyst for a new approach to development.
