Abstract:
Mondes en développement is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. A lexical analysis highlights its main developments. The journal was founded by F. Perroux, who remains one of its most significant contributors, along with R. Gendarme, H. Gérardin, and Ph. Hugon. Africa is still the most studied area. Sustainable development started to feature in the 2000s, and ?emerging countries? have been increasingly replacing ?developing countries?. Two hundred issues later, Mondes en développement remains true to its original intention: a francophone pluralist journal dealing with development.
