Quelques repères sur l’évolution de la doctrine mondiale sur l’éducation

Jean-Émile Charlier

Mondes en développement, 2022, vol. n° 199-200, issue 3, 233-248

Abstract: An examination of the programs launched by international organizations to support education in the Global South, from the euphoria of the 1960s to 2015, shows on the one hand that each program tries to correct the damage done by the previous one and, on the other hand, that the argument supporting investment in education is fragile and unstable. Moreover, international education doctrine has been constantly expanding both the returns expected from education, the categories of beneficiaries, and the range of legitimate education operators. In so doing, it has not so much attempted to impose a model as to integrate heterogeneous sets of practices into a more or less coherent whole.
