Abstract:
With the Earth Summit "Stockholm+50" held in June 2022, this article looks back on the evolution of diplomatic actions and academic debates which have aimed to bring together the issues of development and environment during this half-century. The 1970s and 1980s can be seen as a time "before sustainable development." During the1990s and the first decade of the 2000s, sustainable development was announced and institutionalized. During the 2010s and the beginning of the 2020s, actions and commitments made in this context have been exhausted, seemingly heralding a "post-sustainable development" period.
