Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to address the internationalization of Moroccan small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in the fisheries sector through the mobilization of the concept of ?internationalizing milieu?, which refers to all the resources and skills specific to a given territory. This seems a wise choice in a context where territories are increasingly involved in the process of inserting their productive fabric in the sphere of globalization. A survey conducted among a sample of Moroccan SMEs involved in the seafood processing industry has enabled us to draw up a rather mixed assessment of the level of construction and quality of the internationalizing milieu in Morocco. The resources and especially the skills of the territories are far from promising for the SMEs surveyed. These SMEs therefore have to rely on their own resources, including the networks of their owners, to explore and assert themselves on foreign markets.
