Abstract:
Socio-economic policy design and analysis when it ignores results of gender studies can lead to an increase of inequalities between women and men. Attention must be paid to interactions between political dispositions and gender stereotypes, gendered roles, current inequalities and depreciation of the feminine gender. Socio-economic policies tackling inequalities between men and women assume the implementation of gender mainstreaming. The following article details the theoretical basis of such policies and pinpoints what would foster or hinder their institutional set-up.
