19. Ce que le genre fait à l'analyse de la mondialisation néolibérale: L'ombre portée des systèmes militaro-industriels sur les « femmes globales »

Jules Falquet

Regards croisés sur l'économie, 2014, vol. n° 15, issue 2, 341-355

Abstract: Thanks to globalization, many women entered the labor market. This can be seen as a positive development. However, an analysis combining social, racial and gender factors shows that life improvement for the majority is achieved at the expense of some specific categories. One of these categories is the ?women of services? category, mainly composed of non-privileged women forced to perform care activities or activities related to the sex trade. In the context of neoliberal militarization, its emergence is consistent with that of ?armed men?, which contributes to the casualisation of women, especially those of the South.
