Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to estimate adult-equivalence scales for two distinct subpopulations: the poor and the not-poor. The problem of endogeneity involved in the determination of these two subpopulations is approached here by a Bayesian estimation procedure. The results show that the adult-equivalence scales are higher for the poor populations.
