Incertitude, rationalité et institution. Une lecture croisée de Keynes et Simon

Nicolas Postel

Revue économique, 2008, vol. 59, issue 2, 265-289

Abstract: Keynes and Simon traverse all two, fifty year from distance, an epistemologically similar way. Both work out a theory of the rational action presenting very closed characteristics (intuitive, empirical and in a non calculative form). This theory leads them to become aware of the role of the institutions on the cognitive and coordinating level. Finally their two theories insist on the needing of a certain social and political coercion, though in a very different form. This parallel course indicates the way to us to be followed : we have to stress the lay on the ethical dimension of the economic institutions. Classification JEL : B21, B 41, B50, E 12, D 81
