Abstract: Relying on recent articles and books, this paper aims to highlight how finance could serve society and which bases could allow financial activities to actually benefit society. In the aftermath of the crisis public authorities have been reshaping the regulatory framework to prevent finance abuses and their dangerous consequences. However, if a sound framework is necessary, ethics appears unavoidable from its place in finance curriculums to its effective implementation in financial corporations.
