Services domestiques: quelles perspectives pour une stratégie d'industrialisation ?

François-Xavier Devetter and Sandrine Rousseau

Revue d'économie industrielle, 2007, vol. n° 119, issue 3, 1-1

Abstract: Among the projects connected with the development of services for persons, the recent measures distinguish not only by their scale but above all by the interest they focus on the structuring of the service offer. One pillar of the present work consists in promoting the action of profit-making firms on a sector traditionally dominated by associations. Or these firms seem to give greater importance to a strategy that industrializes the service. They concentrate on the less relational segment (?simple? household near the working population) and generate new forms of labour management aiming to depersonalize and standardize activities. These trends raise questions on the quality of the jobs thus generated.
