Abstract:
Necessity and opportunity entrepreneurship literature shows that these two types of entrepreneurship could lead to different entrepreneurial behaviours. Some researchers argue that there could exist more than two different entrepreneurial profiles in terms of motivations. Based on these arguments, the objective of our research is to determine whether there are different profiles of necessity-opportunity entrepreneurs and if there are differences in terms of gestation process between these two kinds of entrepreneurs. Our results show that entrepreneurs significantly differ one from another in terms of gestation process and that there are different subgroups of necessity-opportunity entrepreneurs.
