Étienne Rusamira

Revue d'économie régionale et urbaine, 2006, vol. juin, issue 1, 81-102

Abstract: Using the Conditional logit model, this paper deals with the main determinants of migrations within 25 Canadian Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs), and the huge concentration of Immigrants in the three biggest CMAs. The outcomes are as follow : - three variables, Population, Distance and Language provide the best explanation for migrations within the 25 CMAs ; and - only variable Population explains better the huge concentration of Immigrants in the three biggest CMAs (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver).
