Abstract:
This article is presenting the special issue of RERU linked with the International Symposium (Lyon 2005) which has made the synthesis of the FORD programme (For and On Regional Development) of INRA and of five French regions over a period of ten years. The results of the programme are set out and discussed in a polar way (complementary or contradictory readings) around a set of seven arguments : products and territories, towns and rural areas, multifunctionality and agricultural specificity, global scales and local scales, price-effect and guarantee-effect, regional development and sustainable development, regional development and territorial development.
