Abstract:
Industrial and territorial ecology (Ite) give rise to numerous research issues in various disciplines ranging from engineering to human and social sciences. The works carried out in France in this field focus on the territory, its stakes and its actors, as an object of study or as dimensions to consider in the implementation of Ite initiatives. To facilitate the emergence of a multidisciplinary scientific community around the Ite and the development of interdisciplinary works, two symposia has been organized by the University of Technology of Troyes and the Imt Mines Alès in Troyes in 2012 and 2014. This article aims to introduce the special issues resulting from the second edition of the symposium (Coleit 2014), dealing with the problem of the contribution of the Ite to the ecological and social transition of the economy.
