Le couple pratique-recherche. Divorce, mariage ou union libre ?

Benoît Demil, Xavier Lecocq and Vanessa Warnier

Revue française de gestion, 2007, vol. 171, issue 2, 31-48

Abstract: For twenty years, contributions in organization studies argued that research have become less and less useful to practitioners. Most of them suggest that research should be concerned with concrete problems that firms are facing. Drawing from a new representation of relationships between academics and practitioners, we propose to overcome the debate on research usefulness to stress that the creation and diffusion process of constructs and theories can be analogized with the garbage can model. We discuss the consequences of such a representation.
