Islam et management. Le rôle d'un univers de sens

Revue française de gestion, 2007, vol. 171, issue 2, 141-156
Abstract:
Islam, like any other religion, has no magical formula for the running of business enterprises. On the other hand, it is an open-ended religion which can play a positive role there. Indeed, it can contribute to shaping the mindset, within which management finds a meaning. The successful implementation of a procedure of total quality in the Moroccan subsidiary of an international corporation is a good example of such a process. Changes in behaviour took place when expected behaviours were expressed in the idiom of being a good Muslim. The action of the corporation, in particular the General Manager?s uncommon style of leadership, rendered such a reconciliation between Islam and business credible.
