Abstract: In this paper, we propose a model that simultaneously takes into account the outsourcing decision and the management of outsourcing relationships. We use two conceptual tools to study the outsourcing decision (resources, opportunism and flexibility) and two theoretical lenses to analyze the management of outsourcing relationships (control and relationalism). The model is illustrated using interviews with managers working for outsourcing clients and vendors.
