Abstract: This article aims to analyze the ethical issues faced by a group of researchers during a project which turned out to be sensitive and perceived as such as the project unfolded. The story of a collective experience of a research about ethnicity offers the opportunity to clarify the notion of sensitive topic and how the research team?s responsibility builds up gradually in interaction with context and partners, as well as in relation to the group?s collective identity and personal identity of researchers.
