Abstract:
This article proposes a model of the conditions of occupational well-being through a four-dimension construct: Sense (meaning of work), Link, Activity and Comfort (SLAC). After a literature review on well-being, the authors confront the robustness of the SLAC model with two sets of data: a survey of a local government agency (N = 1127) and a quality of work life survey in an online bank (N = 111). The article highlights the relevance of the SLAC model in both areas as a framework for understanding and diagnosis of well-being and quality of work life.
