Petitesse des entreprises et grossissement des effets de proximité

Olivier Torrès

Revue française de gestion, 2015, vol. N° 253, issue 8, 333-352

Abstract: The scope of this article is to show the central role of proximity played over the management of small sized enterprises (small and very small enterprises) based upon the Law of proximity of Abraham Moles and E. Rohmer, thus providing and analytical frame particularly fruitful for the understanding of the specific operation of enterprises of reduced size. The central thesis upheld by the author is based on the assumption that proximity represents a hierarchization mechanism which generates the conditions required for action and reflection inside a centralized and weakly specialized organization, provided with internal and external simple information systems, and which favours intuitive and loose standard strategies. This article is definitely framed within a perspective of specific mode of management of small sized enterprises ruled by a proximity principle.
