Abstract:
Based on the resource dependence theory, this paper analyses dependence asymmetries in dyadic vertical inter-organizational relationships. Objective is to identify strategies allowing SMEs to manage power and dependence asymmetries. Our results, based on the qualitative analysis of four relations of symbiotic interdependence between video game developer and publisher, show that asymmetries can be managed by the implementation of horizontal cooperation strategy or integration strategy of vertical resources and competencies.
