Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to implement an analysis of the performance in 4 and 5 stars French and in Monaco hospitality sector based on a representative sample of 12 agglomerations. The objective is to confirm or not the link between environmental initiatives and hospitality performance. The use of the signal theory allows to consider the labels as a signal of an environmental action. This contribution uses the DEA methodology in order to propose an operational and relative performance measurement. The results show that environmental acts are a driver of the performance and managerial recommendations underline that hotels should continue their efforts in terms of signal by using the labels.
