Abstract:
Entrepreneurship is defined as the process of transforming an idea into a social artifact resulting from the entrepreneur?s discovery of new relationships between means and effects. However, we do not know how to link the creation of social artifacts to the entrepreneur?s cognitive process, i.e. how the means and the effects are associated. In this article, we show that near decomposability (ND), a concept introduced by Simon in 1969 but largely ignored since, is an important concept to address this practical and theoretical issue.
