Abstract:
How does management research explain the existence of unintended effects of performance measurement? This is the question that our article tries to answer. We propose to study management research that analyzed the scandal of fake bank accounts affecting the American bank Wells Fargo in September 2016. First, we show the stalemate of management research published on the subject to understand these effects. We attempt to explain this situation with a structural vision of management research.
