Abstract:
Based on a longitudinal case study at STMicroelectronics, this research focuses on new knowledge creation process for radical innovation. This paper introduces the concept of a proto-epistemic society of experts to highlight the organizational arrangements for the renewal of scientific and technical knowledge, and the emergence of new dominant designs.
