Abstract:
Several platforms with a social purpose are emerging in order to reduce food waste and recover unsold food. Using a qualitative study of two platforms, we analyse their intermediation logistics role. This study highlights the challenges of sustainability and paradoxical tensions. The difficulty of logistics resources optimization and polluting emissions reduction, the discrepancy among expectations in terms of job creation, sustained connecting of actors, and the levels of operational involvement or remuneration generate sustainability paradoxes.
