Abstract:
In a context of an increased bank competition, the French Post got recently access to consumer credit (2010). This development is a means for this state administration to boost its ability to compete in the banking market through a widening of its range of financial products. It has only been made possible by the authorization of the state. This step illustrates the role of the state not only in the regulation of professional markets but also in the wider regulation of the bank market.
