Élaborer des indicateurs avec les citoyens. Lecture pragmatiste d’une méthode d’enquête sur les valeurs

Michel Renault, Pascale Meriot and Annie Gouzien

Revue française de socio-Economie, 2017, vol. n° 19, issue 2, 47-67

Abstract: This article is dedicated to a pragmatic reading of the SPIRAL methodology proposed by the Council of Europe, a participatory methodology for developing indicators of well-being. Our reading establishes methodological proximity with the process of formation of values stemming from works of the pragmatic philosopher John Dewey. We show in particular that this method engages the participants in an inquiry, in Dewey?s sense of the term, on values. Finally, we discuss further avenues of reflection offered by this methodology.
