La nouvelle diaspora russe en Estonie: nomades, critiques de Poutine ou opposition politique ?

Abstract:
Russia?s war against Ukraine engendered mass migration flows from both countries. In this short essay, I discuss the new Russian diaspora in Estonia?a relatively small group of Russian citizens who fled their country after Russia launched its new war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. These escapees constitute what might be dubbed ?external Russia,? with its own discourses of victimhood, guilt, and moral?and largely symbolic?responsibility for the war. My aim is to find out what narratives and political meanings are being produced by the anti-war and anti-Putin Russians who have emigrated to Estonia, how these narratives are communicated, what audiences they are aimed at, and how they construct the agency of the new Russian diaspora. I also seek to understand how these inherently domestic and Russia-centric narratives are adjusted to the Estonian and?in a broader sense?European political agenda.
