L'Asie centrale et l'agression russe contre l'Ukraine: peut-on échapper à l'étreinte de l'ours russe ?

Kuat Akizhanov

Revue française de socio-Economie, 2023, vol. n° 31, issue 2, 261-264

Abstract: The economies of Central Asia are dependent on Russia to varying degrees. Between Russia and the countries of Central Asia, monetary relations are close and there are high levels of labor migration and trade flows. The Eurasian Economic Union adds an institutional dimension to this de facto regional integration. The war in Ukraine underlines the tensions created by economic dependence on Russia and on the export of raw materials, and at the same time offers new prospects for development and new outlets.
