Abstract: In 2022, the war facilitated the transfer of power in Ukraine. It has helped the state regain ascendancy over the oligarchs, who had previously been key political players. Confronted with a reconfiguration of their role, these powerful businessmen face a process of political disqualification very similar to that experienced by the notables of the Third Republic in France. A comparison of the two phenomena offers essential keys to understanding Ukraine's future.
