L’aide alimentaire en Wallonie: des collaborations logistiques plurielles adaptées aux bénéficiaires ?

Anne Deprez

Reflets et perspectives de la vie économique, 2019, vol. LVII, issue 3, 119-135

Abstract: The ?Food? policy measure of the Walloon Plan to Fight Against Poverty encourages consultation, the creation of logistics platforms, the collection of unsold food items and the creation of social groceries or social restaurants. It thus adopts a pragmatic approach, focused on offering food aid. In a context characterized by both a growing demand for food aid and the institutionalization of this sector, this assessment tries to better understand the experiences and needs of beneficiaries. It analyses the processes of setting up logistics collaborations focused on food aid at the local level (urban and rural) and involving the public sector and non-profit associations. It enhances a better understanding of some difficulties that are faced and contributions that are made and highlights the diversity of both practices and representations.
