Les frontières du gouvernement Kirchner entre aspiration au renouveau et consolidation de l´ancien

Abstract: This article analyzes the political and social aspects of the Kirchner government, in power since 2003, so as to identify its breaking points and continuities with the past. In a regional landscape where new ideological approaches have appeared, critical of the 1990s? neo-liberalism, this administration has proved to be full of ambiguities, tensions and double talk. The analysis is centred around three of its major limits : social exclusion, as shown by the absence of truly inclusive projects considering the scale of the problems ; lack of job stability, as witnessed through the weakness and fluctuations of labour policy and the redistribution strategies to combat flexibilisation and the huge socio-economic asymmetries ; and institutional policy, as proved by the consolidation of the « decisionist » model and delegate democracy and by the absorption of pro-governmental trade unions coupled with the stigmatization of opposition organizations.
