Houda Laroussi

Revue Tiers-Monde, 2009, vol. n° 199, issue 3, 501-516

Abstract: This article shows the specificities of the micro-financing in Tunisia from a socio-logical approach and from a singular societal application linked to two institutions (associative and public). First it presents an overview of the micro-credit?s definition, of its positive reach as well as its weakness. Afterward, the possibilities existing on the Tunisian market as regards micro-credit offers for the disadvantaged districts are described. Finally, the author evokes the profile of micro-credit beneficiary women among the populations up to now excluded from the employment policies, by referring to the advantages and to the limits of the microcredit?s model proposed to the populations in poverty.
