Ressources foncières et pression immobilière à Mumbai (Inde). Quelles stratégies possibles pour les habitants des bidonvilles ?

Abstract: In Mumbai, the strong real estate pressure, in a context of privatization of the national market and decentralization, largely concerns the slums, whose perspectives of regularization/renewal induce a diverse range of actors, from real estate groups to slum dwellers, whether organized or not in associations, to engage multiple transactions around the valorization of urban land. These transactions can be seen as ways of mobilizing resources and specific strategies, which may result not only from speculative or political ambitions, but also from a rationale of survival. This article aims, using a qualitative approach, to examine the range of actions operated by the inhabitants of Ahmed Zakaria Nagar (AZN) in Behrampada, a slum located in the heart of Mumbai and of its current projects for urban redevelopment.
