Abstract:
This article aims at studying the political commitment of young Copts who, in March 2011, took part in founding the Maspero Youth Union, a movement which claims to organize one of the youth groups involved in the revolution. The Maspero Youth Union questions one of the hidden meanings of the revolution. To what extent has it challenged the politicization of the other forces involved in the revolution? In what way has it disrupted the relationship between the State and the Coptic Church? What has been its contribution to Coptic militancy in particular and to the 2011 revolution in general?
