Abstract:
The health and safety of temporary workers is the subject of particular monitoring, with the problem of their high accident rate being regularly publicised. However, this observation conceals the shortcomings in the management of occupational exposure of temporary workers. This is less a question of ignorance than of monitoring systems that struggle to trigger and equip preventive action. Our analysis focuses on three established occupational risk monitoring systems: the administrative recording of occupational accidents and diseases by the Cnam-TS, the monitoring of workers’ state of health by occupational health services, and the assessment and prevention of risks organised by temporary employment agencies. For each of these monitoring systems, we analyse the initiatives, the efforts and arguments developed by those in charge of these issues, and how this places them in a difficult position to act.
