Congressional Budget Office

No 57088, Reports from Congressional Budget Office

Abstract: The U.S. military’s capabilities and budget are determined mainly by the number and type of combat units, as well as by the personnel and equipment they contain. For each type of major combat unit, this report describes the unit’s structure, functions, strengths and limitations, past use, size, and operation and support costs, accounting for supporting units and overhead.
